We are seeking experienced and qualified Development Management professionals to work as part of our Specialist team determining a wide range of interesting and complex planning applications. South Somerset has a rich heritage and cherished landscapes so we are looking for like-minded professionals who want to work with us to safeguard our landscapes, protect our heritage assets and shape development so South Somerset is a great place to live, work and play.
Ideally you will be professionally qualified (e.g.: RTPI, IHBC, LI, RIBA) with significant experience working within a local authority/private sector environment or hold a relevant degree and be actively working towards a recognised professional qualification. You should possess an excellent knowledge of the relevant technical guidance and current legislation, being able to demonstrate superb professional assessment skills applicable to more complex and technically challenging development proposals.
The successful candidate should be an excellent team player who is experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to manage their own workload, work under pressure to deadlines and use their own initiative with minimal supervision. You need to be committed to delivering excellent customer focussed service. A full driving licence will be required for the post.
